E.P. Clark & Co. Ltd. - Surfacing

Surface Dressing.
Also known as 'Tar and Chipping' - this is a cost effective surfacing providing an aesthetically pleasing wearing course. Different stone chippings can be used to provide a uniform, texturised finish in a colour to suit your environment. Surface dressing can be applied to new surfaces or to existing roads drives and paths to repair and seal thus prolonging the life of the surface. Stone chippings are available in a variety of colours including:

  • Golden brown
  • Granite
  • Basalt
  • Harden Red
  • Thames Valley

Macadam.
Formerly known as 'Tarmac' the modern material most used is dense bituminous macadam (DBM) and is a bitumen based product rather than tar based. This will give a smooth running surface. Hot rolled asphalt can be used in certain high stress situations. Pot hole repairs are normally carried out using DBM to match the existing surface.
